Seen as a mix of road cycling and mountain biking but ridden on a road bike with grippier&nbsp;tyres, oh and takes part on a course with obstacles.&nbsp;For those old enough to remember, it might sound like a round of \u2018It\u2019s a Knockout\u2019 but for the first time the British National Cyclo-cross Championships will be held in Sussex&nbsp;this weekend, January 8<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;&amp; 9th. Over 700 riders will contest the different categories over the weekend.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button has-custom-width wp-block-button__width-100\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-vivid-red-background-color has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/crawleywheelers.co.uk\/hsbc-uk-national-cyclo-cross-championships-2022\/\">To see the race schedule and other details for the weekend\u2019s action<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The event is hosted&nbsp;by the local cycling club, Crawley Wheelers. In their own words, &#8216;we have taken our legendary National Trophy course and spiced it up! There&#8217;s something for everyone: Fast tarmac and gravel straights, grassy chicanes and hot dog turns, the Quarry off-camber and steep hills, the camber descent, hurdles, sand school and a new big bridge.\u2019&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other sports the weather can have a detrimental effect on the action, in cross, it only gets better.
