Mondraker Zendit RR S Full-Suspension e-MTB

Mondraker announced the Zendit back in April 2026, in a move that caused a stir as one of the first bigger brands to adopt the DJI Avinox system.

Frequently Asked Questions About Electric Mountain Bikes
How fast can I go on an e-MTB?
All legal e-bikes are limited to a max assist speed of 15.5mph. This applies to both on- and off-road bikes. You can still ride the bike above this speed, but the motor assistance will cut out, and you’ll be reliant on leg power/gravity.
What is the difference between a hardtail and full-suspension e-MTB?
Much like with standard MTB’s, a full-suspension bike is generally geared up for more aggressive, technical riding, with components and geometry that can handle big hits and rough terrain.
A hardtail e-MTB will be suitable for gentler trail riding and general off-road use, with components that reflect this. A hardtail e-MTB also makes a great off-road commuting option.
Hardtail e-MTB’s generally start at a lower price point than full-suspension bikes due to the lack of rear suspension. No rear suspension also means less maintenance!
Is the motor system the most important factor when choosing an e-MTB?
Absolutely not. It’s an important consideration as you’ll need to factor in how long you want to ride and who with (a rider on a lightweight e-MTB is going to run out of battery much faster than their friends on full-power bikes, for example), but you should also take into account if the bike as a whole is suitable for your needs.
Consider things like the geometry and components, and how that might affect your enjoyment of the trails.
Power is not the be-all and end-all, first and foremost, you want a bike you’ll love to ride and feel confident on.
How heavy are electric mountain bikes?
There’s no escaping the fact that an electric mountain bike is going to be heavier than your standard MTB. The addition of a motor system and battery is always going to increase the weight. Some of the lightweight models on the market sit around 18-20kg in weight, whereas most full power bikes range anywhere from 21-25kg+. The good news is that the bikes are developed taking this into account, and the weight sits in all the right places to give you a plush and planted ride.
Should I get a lightweight or full-powered e-MTB?
This is dependent on a few different factors. If you’re looking for an electric bike that feels closer to your standard MTB in ride-feel, then a lightweight bike might be for you.
If you want to ride as many trails as quickly as possible, then a full-power bike is going to help you achieve this.
As mentioned above, who you’re riding with will be a factor to consider. If you ride by yourself a lot and just want some extra assistance, a lightweight bike would feel amazing. If you’re riding with fast-paced riders on full-power bikes, you’re likely going to need to be using max power and therefore drain your battery much faster.
