The Shimano RT-CL900 Ice Tech FREEZA rotors offer consistent braking performance through advanced energy control. Utilising a revolutionary stainless steel and alloy 3-layer sandwich construction, these rotors effectively manage heat during use. The aluminium core allows heat generated from braking to radiate quickly, achieving surface temperature drops of approximately 50°C. When paired with Ice Tech pads, surface temperatures can be reduced from around 400°C to 300°C, providing significant improvements in overall performance.
Design and Performance
FREEZA technology allows the alloy core to extend from the braking surface as a fin, providing additional cooling. These rotors are designed to be durable, lightweight, and rigid, ensuring long pad life, reduced noise, and less fade due to improved heat dispersion. The large alloy spider provides a highly rigid and lightweight support for the rotor surface, while the super polished braking surface delivers excellent braking performance.
The rotors utilise the proven Shimano Centre Lock system, which offers increased strength, security, and an easy set-up. Additionally, the precision-cut braking surface improves pad clearing in muddy conditions while further aiding cooling under high loads.
